CA$H CONVERTERS GIVES USED GOODS NEW STATUS

What began in 1984 as a single store retail operation in Perth , Western Australia , is today a dynamic and fast expanding international franchise with over 530 stores in 24 countries across the globe.

The first Cash Converters store in Asia opened in Singapore at Tampines in January 1999. The Tampines store was closed in November 2006 and relocated to Punggol as the building it occupied was scheduled to be demolished.  There are currently 5 stores in Singapore.  4 of the stores are conveniently located in popular heartlands in Toa Payoh, Jurong, Bedok and Ang Mo Kio. The 5th and latest store is located within Admiralty MRT station.

There are 6 stores in Malaysia.  5 of them are within the state of Selangor in Taman Sea, Ampang, Klang,  Sunway and Selayang.  The 6th store is in Plentong, Johor Bahru.

There is 1 store in Thailand located at Pattaya.

CA$H CONVERTERS offers an alternative to selling via the classified adverts in newspapers, car boot sales or over the Internet. The advantage is the immediacy of the process, as instant cash is paid once the price has been agreed. Cash Converters takes in household products such as TV’s, Hi Fi, Electrical Appliances, Computers, Jewellery, Sporting Goods, Musical Instruments etc.  Items such as Clothing, Books and Magazines, Bulky Furniture and Large Electronics such as Refridgerators and Washing Machines are usually not traded. Customers who visit the Buys Room tend to be those who are upgrading and are looking to sell their old item to help finance a new purchase. There are also those who need some extra cash - and can get it by selling items that they no longer need or use.

CA$H CONVERTERS' Retail Section offers a wide product range.  Visiting customers vary from collectors of watches and cameras to bargain hunters. The stores in Singapore and Malaysia attract a number of regular customers who like to browse in a friendly environment. They appreciate that the stock changes on a day to day basis, depending on what has been bought recently.  It is a shop where unique, unusual and bizarre items can be found alongside the more normal everyday items. This combination of aspects generates significant traffic in the store.

Our staff are all trained both in customer service and in product knowledge.  This allows them to serve their customers better and to demonstrate the working functions of a product.  All items are fully tested before being sold and electrical items are covered by a one month warranty.
